Culture Club!

 Hello again,

In my last blog post I mentioned that my class was doing Culture Club. My presentation was on New Zealand, we had set questions that we needed to put onto our slides. On the day of it everyone came to school wearing their countries traditional costumes, and brought in their national dish.

Schools nearly over!

Hi it's me again,
It's nearly the end of the school year!  I'm so excited for the holidays. My family is going to Taupo and we are meeting my auntie and uncle there. We are staying there for a week it's going to be so fun. Next week my whole class is presenting our culture club project, I did New Zealand. Culture club is when you get given lots of questions on the country and you have to make a slideshow presentation.  

Everyone is wearing the national costume of their country and bringing the traditional dish. It's going to be like a parade but with a big feast. There is only two and a half weeks left at school. I really want to know what class and what teacher I have for 2019. 2019 is so soon!  

Quick Write Gunshots echoed through the valley

Gunshots echoed through the valley, I'm in world war one in 1914 not 2018. I hear my enemy trying to shoot me "aaargh!" I scream. He got me. Then I realize that he shot my friend who is not screaming. "Why aren't you screaming?" I say confused

"Why would I be screaming," He said

"Because you got shot"I kind of shouted

"I never knew I was shot." He said confused

"Did you not hear me scream" I answered back

"I thought that you were shot?" he asked

"No I did that so you would know when to pretend to be dead." 

"Can we play something else."

"Sure, we should make a wall."

So we did.

This is my Quick Write and I learnt that for every new speaker they need to go on a different line, and they all need speech marks so that what they are saying is clear. Next time I could have added more detail rather then having a whole bunch of speech in a row.

Hi again, in class everyone made a halloween poem and this one's mine.

X-Country coming up!

Hi it's me again,
Next week my school is doing X-Country. If you don't know what X-Country is it is when you do a long running race. Every Monday and Wednesday we go down to the Course where we run. I think it takes about ten minutes for me to run it except you get really tired. The fun part about itis when you get to the finish line. We do the X-Country on rock, road, sand and grass. We run beside the beach and get the sea breeze. Do you guys have to do X-Country? Do you guys like running?

Hi it's me again, a while ago I did some writing to go with this picture that my teacher's friend drew, I hope you enjoy it.

 

The Owls hoot echoed in the night sky. I crept closer being careful not to make a noise. And I am, well I'm not something that people see everyday, in fact you never would have seen one of me before but wait, are you sure your're ready to hear this, okay here I go. I am a magical wizard Lizard with a humans head. There you go I said it. You know that Owl that I've been creeping up on well, that's  my prey and I'm trying to kill it. The Owl's wing nearly touches the water, and when it does a laser comes out of my human hand and kills it just like that. It's so simple, I know that for sure. 

Flip Out dancers!

Hi , it's me again and today this about the Flip Out dancers that are performing to a song called Coming home, by Sheppard. In the dance there is Sophie, Miriam, Amelia, Olivia and of course me.

Quick write I gasped, in awe, as I looked

I gasped, in awe, as I looked up into the sky, and I know you will never believe this, but on a flying broomstick there was an evil looking witch staring straight back at me. Maybe witches are invading the Earth instead of aliens, or they might have just swapped jobs, anyway either one of them is equally bad, well not exactly, witches invading the earth is way, way worse.

Well after that I sprinted home and yelled out to Mum.
"Mum!"
"Yes?"
"Um... you'll never believe this but, when I was walking home from school I... I... saw a witch flying on her magical broomstick".
"Ha ha ha!"
"What's so funny?"
"Are you sure you weren't daydreaming?"
"Positive," I say.
"Well if you say so..."
"I'm going to prove to you that witches are in town."

So I set a trap in a a tree next to a cauldron on the grass, when she tries to pick up the cauldron by the handle the net will fall onto her. "Tada! That was simple."
The next morning I ask "Can I walk to school?"
"Yes," grumbles Mum.
"Yay!" I shout. Finally everything I need for the trap is in my bag, so I set off out the door. Once the trap is ready I hide behind a bush and wait for the witch. Woosh! My brain screams, suddenly she grabs the handle and then she gets tangled in the net.
"See Mum there are witches invading the Earth!"

Hi everyone, In Moana Learning Hub we have been learning to get pictures that we are allowed to use. If you want to get an image you click 'Tools', then press 'Usage rights' and then click 'Labeled for reuse with modification'. Remember to check that you are allowed to use the image otherwise you may get in trouble for breaking copyright laws.

How I Plan My Week!

My class, Moana Learning Hub, has been using a Digital Timetable to plan our week ahead. On our Digital timetable it tells us if we need to be at a workshop or doing an activity like Inquiry. A workshop is where we have maths, reading, writing, ICT or Te reo Maori. 

Our Teacher emails us a google form that we need to fill in. It will tell us what workshops we are allowed to do in the week. There are math groups that you can choose from and that's the same for writing. The Teacher chooses our reading groups.

On the Moana Learning Hub website, you click on the 'Home' tab and scroll down, click on the picture of the clock and it will take you to our timetable on google sheets. 

Then we fill it in with workshops and activities. If your wondering, "MF" means "Matua Fergus" And "KN" means "Koka Ngaire".
